Easy community bike ride for folks of all levels and ages. Everyone is welcome as long as you are going to be respectful and kind to others. Folks using other means of transportation like scooter, unicycle, wheelchairs are welcome. Bike riding in a city like Sudbury is an act of resistance. Urban design in cities like Sudbury are built for the car. This is neither person, community, or environment centered and it can be changed to improve accessibility for everyone. // Promenade en vélo communautaire facile pour tous niveaux et âges. out le monde est le bienvenu à condition d’être respectueux et gentil avec les autres. Participate in our monthly meet up where we will explore different forms of creative expression such as crafting, painting, felting, sculpting and other activities brought in by community members. This month we explore the art of stamp and print making. Carve away at some lino to create a design as unique as you are and use it to create print from your template. //

“St Peters United is an Affirming designated church and as such we welcome and support people of all genders and sexualities. We also welcome and support people of different faiths, ethnicities, cultures and religious backgrounds. Come and lift each other in spirit as we hear from Reverend Ryan Fea and how God Loves us all unconditionally. Light snacks, refreshments and a time to socialize at the end of Pride week will follow service!
So “come out” and take time to unwind and join in a welcoming and loving community!

We have received feedback from community members that including events by the churches is harmful in two ways: due to the religious trauma caused by churches to people in the 2S-LGBTQIA+ community as well as their history of operating residential schools. We also understand that the church is very important for people within the 2S-LGBTQIA+ community.
We recently discussed these issues with St Peter’s United Church here in Sudbury. They explained the steps that they have taken to be an affirming church, and the actions they take in town to support the 2S-LGBTQIA+ community (such as involvement in Reseau Access Network’s Classroom Closet event, Sudbury Secondary’s School’s Value Vault, Out of the Cold, the “Hate Has No Home Here” Project, sponsoring films at the Queer North Film Festival, and many more actions).
In regards to the involvement of the United Church in operating residential schools, they shared the information regarding the 1986 apology from the church for operating residential schools, as well as their ongoing work towards reconciliation with indigenous communities. This includes their involvement in Have a Heart Day, the Moose Hide Campaign, celebration of National Indigenous Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and raising $10,000 in 2021 for the Water First Youth Initiative Internship Program.
We wanted to provide this information to our community so they can make informed decisions about whether this event is a good fit for them, and to let them know that the St. Peter’s United Church is open to discuss these issues further if desired.
